Milky Way in Ikebukuro

My friend and I enjoying our parfaits at Milky Way in Ikebukuro
Want to try the desserts of the 13 constellations? Why don't you head to Ikebukuro! It's only a few minutes walk from the East exit of Ikebukuro station. Why not stop by for a delicious meal and a mouth watering dessert of your choice from the 13 constellations...though I'm still not liking the new addition to the list, I KNOW I'm a true Gemini, alas, it just gives you one more option to choose from! My choice was Aries which was soft cream with chocolate ice cream on top and double cream crepes that melted in my mouth. It was delicious, and let's just say I was disappointed when it all disappeared. My friend chose the Cancer parfait, and it was similar to my parfait but no crepes and with lots of crispy cornflakes mixed in... you're probably wondering 'cornflakes?'. Yes, cornflakes, the sacrificial disappointment to Japanese parfait desserts. Well that's what you think at first...but the crunch gives it texture. When I first tried a Japanese parfait I was shocked to find cornflakes in my parfait. Wasting generous space that could have been ice cream...now I'm used to finding these サクサク (sakusaku - crunchy/crisp) cornflakes in my parfait. If you can put up with a little bit of cornflakes in your parfait, then I say go for it! I know another trip is planned in my schedule book, next time I'm going to try one of their mountainous, 'amusement' drinks. Check out their website: Milky Way Website.

Here is Aries

And I'm going to gobble it right up!

I'm seeing stars!

This one is Cancer! You can see the cornflakes at the bottom of the parfait cup!

I love the style and content of this blog.

Milky Way is now on my go-to list but I definitely don't want cornflakes in my parfait!
