Gari-Gari Kun - Chocolate Cookie

Another favorite snack of my. Usually quiet cheap and can be found anywhere. There are two styles for Garigari kun - Rich and normal. Their normal type is typically like a Popsicle and was introduced into Japan in the 80's. The original Gari-Gari Kun is blue and soda-flavored, made from the idea of snow cones (kakigori). It was made for young boys and girls to snack on during the summer, a easy snack, where you could eat kakigori with one hand. Which is the only reason why I tried it in the summer. Summers here in Japan get ridiculously hot, compared to my normal Canadian summer. For a good two months you are covered in sweat and will likely shower at least 2 times a day.

Garigari kun Rich means that is has a bit more to it. This rich one is cookies and chocolate. It was a great dessert choice. Up to this date there are over 50 flavors of Gari-Gari Kun.
