The Streets of Kuta - Bali Part 2

Good morning from Bali (not really, but let`s imagine) here is the 2nd day adventure of Yuka and I in Bali. We spent the day venturing around Kuta area. Our hotel was only a 5 min walk to the beach. We had to walk down this random, tiny alley with scooters and people traveling down it often. I have pictures of it below.

Our day was mostly spent shopping, and enjoying the delicious foods and drinks of Bali. We started out with breakfast at our hotel, then a walk along the beach, to return back to our hotel, to change our clothes. It was way too hot to walk in a long skirt. During the evening we decided to relax and get our over-walked bodies massaged at this massage shop near our hotel. The main shopping area was just beside our hotel. The main street for shopping in Kuta is called Legian street. That`s where we spent most of time during the day, walking along the street, and shopping shops. One thing about Bali in Kuta, shopkeepers will haggle you to come in their shop. You have to be firm with your or they  follow you or keep bugging you. It was a big shock to the system to have to put up with all the haggling all day long. It was a bit stressful at first, but after a while you get used to it, and just becomes normal. So expect that if you are going to Bali, or any place in Indonesia. Here in Japan they never out right yell at your to come in and check their items, but they have the yelling of  `Welcome` in their high pitch voices...I think I rather Bali`s style, no high-pitch screaming in my ears is a pleasure.

At night my friend wanted to go to the duty free shop, so we thought we could walk there with out trusty maps....little did we realize that the distance was printed totally wrong. So we walked around 40 mins, in the dark streets of Bali, with hardly any traffic lights we had to dash across highway like roads with speeding cars and motorbikes. Finally we realized we had no clue where we were, and started to look for a taxi back, and we found ourselves a supermarket! I don`t remember but Yuka and I just LOVE supermarkets! It`s the best spot for souvenirs and lots of yummy snacks for cheap! So basically we turn into children when we enter, and go wild! Gasping in delight of new found treats, or cheap grabs. An hour spent in the Supermarket, back to our hotel we go to relax by the pool.

Breakfast Mi Gorang, Nashi Goreng and more
